Abstract

906,933. Incinerators; cremation furnaces. SCORER Ltd., A. B. March 23, 1961 [March 25, 1960], No. 10592/60. Classes 51 (1) and 51 (2). An oil- or gas-fired refuse incinerator or cremation furnace comprises a primary combustion chamber, an incinerating chamber supplied with hot gases from the primary combustion chamber, a secondary combustion chamber to complete combustion of the charge, and a dust-extracting chamber. The gases pass from the primary combustion chamber A into the incinerating chamber B either through passages b leading under the grate b<SP>1</SP> or through apertures C<SP>1</SP> leading into the top of the chamber. The refuse, &c., is fed through an aperture at the top of chamber B, closed by a pivoted lid B<SP>1</SP>, which may be connected to control means for the primary combustion air and for the oil- or gas-burner. The gases from the incinerating chamber pass through a passage c into the secondary combustion chamber C, and thence through a dust-extracting chamber D to a chimney E. The chamber D may be cylindrical, and contains a central vertical tube ending above the surface of a quantity of water, and surrounded at its lower end by baffles to divert the gases.
