Abstract

906,856. Paper containing polyaminocaproic acid fibres. ONDERZOEKINGSINSTITUUT RESEARCH N.V. March 14, 1961 [March 17, 1960], No. 9353/61. Class 96. Paper made of or containing polyaminocaproic acid fibres, e.g. together with cellulose fibres or other organic, or inorganic fibres, is impregnated with a solution of chloral hydrate, e.g. in water, in ethyl or methyl alcohol, or in acetone, of such concentration that the fibres do not swell, the solution then being concentrated in the paper by evaporation, the evaporation not being completed until the fibres have been at least superficially swollen. With water as solvent, the initial solution contains not more than 450 g.p.l. of chloral hydrate, and with acetone, not more than 800. When swelling commences, there may be 15 to 25% of chloral hydrate present in the paper. Evaporation may be effected using calender rolls at 105‹ to 125‹ C.; it may be aided by suction.
