[Also in Group XXIX] A piston cock controlling the flow of a dense substance, such as ice-cream, comprises a cylinder 5 and piston 9 made of non-metallic, substantially heat-insulating material. The cylinder 5 is provided with an inlet duct 6, leading from a supply source, and an outlet 8 which is preferably of conical shape and provided with radial ribs. The piston 9 is of conical shape at its lower end 109 and provided with grooves 14 containing sealing rings which are disposed on either side of the inlet duct when the valve is in its lowermost position. The valve may be controlled by a handle 13 through a pinion 10 and rack 209 on the piston. When the valve is closed, all the substance is forced out of the cylinder 5 and the ribs on the outlet prevent drip. Three or five such valves may be provided controlling the supply from two or three sources respectively to provide separate delivery or a mixture of sources.
