Abstract

Glucamylase is produced by fermenting a nutrient medium containing carbohydrate and nitrogenous material with an organism, particularly Aspergillus niger mutant Armbruster C, A.T.C.C. No. 13497, produced by subjecting spores of Aspergillus niger to mutagenic agents, such as ultraviolet irradiation, and isolating from the survivors spore cultures which have the capacity to produce glucamylase in yields at least 50% greater than the original parent organism.
