Abstract

903,623. Tube joints; junction pieces. GLASEL, G. May 24, 1960 [May 27, 1959], No. 18243/60. Class 99(1). A tubing connector for use in switch plants equipped with pressure wave transmitters includes a pipe section 6 which interconnects two or more tube ends and is carried by a housing 5 having two flat, parallel, side surfaces so that a group of such housings can be mounted in a row side by side and with the side surfaces thereof in contact with one another; at the base of the housing a locking device 9 is provided by which the housing can be attached to a preferably profiled bar 7 supporting the row of housings and extending at right angles to the flat side surfaces. As shown, the connector comprises the housing 5 of insulating material having on the base thereof a groove 8 and a locking spring 9 adapted to engage a bar 7, the spring being locked by a pin. The tubing connectors 6 are pressed into the housing and the latter is formed with dovetail slots 11 for the reception of identification labels. In modifications (a) the connectors 6 are held in position in the housing by a washer, (b) the housing is provided with a valve for breaking the connection between two or more tubes connected thereto, and (c) the housing is formed with conical parts, the tubes being secured thereon by nuts with the interposition of internally coned collars; the latter are dispensed with when the flanges of the nuts are formed with conical surfaces.
