Abstract

903,298. Windscreen wipers. O'SHEI, W. E. Jan. 27, 1959 [Jan. 27, 1958], No. 2638/58. Class 138 (1). The blade of a windscreen wiper is connected to the wiper arm by an assembly comprising channel section members 1, 2 connected together and to the blade (not shown) by a rivet pin 4 to form a passage 3 for receiving the end of the wiper arm (not shown). The member 2 is of spring steel and is formed with ears 5a adapted to engage notches in the sides of the wiper arm, and its end 8 is formed as a finger tab which is depressed when it is desired to withdraw the wiper arm. Alternatively, the spring member 2 may have a single ear only or a dimple. As a further alternative a separate leaf spring may be secured to the cross-web of the inner channel section member.
