902,895. Vegetation - disintegrators. HEALEY, F. H., and HEALEY, K. B., [trading as HEALEY & SONS, F. H.]. Jan. 31, 1961 [Feb. 3, 1960], No. 3843/60. Class 6(3). A vegetation-disintegrator, primarily for potato-haulms, comprises a frame 4 supporting a transverse shaft 16 carrying flails 19 which are partially surrounded by a housing 11 mounted on the frame, the frame being pivoted on the front of a tractor 1 and being pivotally adjustable between a lower operative and an upper transport position, Fig. 4, by fluidoperated means. In Fig. 1 the frame is attached to the tractor chassis 2 by channel-brackets 7 having lugs 9 which pivotally support the frame. A vertical channel 26 is bolted centrally to the front of the chassis and pivotally receives a hydraulic ram 25 receiving pressurefluid from the hydraulic-lift system of the tractor. The flails are driven from the lateral power take-off by belt-drives 22, 23. In Fig. 4 the frame 4 is attached to arms 32 arranged on each side of the tractor and forming part of a known manure-loader, the arms being connected to further arms 34 and to doubleacting rams 37 pivoted to the tractor chassis.
