A cornice a is combined with a rail b for supporting hooked suspensory elements c for hanging fabrics, pictures, &c., the rail b being initially separate from the cornice and being secured thereto by screws k. In a modification, Fig. 5, there is suspended from the rail b by elements n a metal or plastic tube m longitudinally slotted at m<SP>1</SP> to receive sliding curtain runners, the elements n having abutments o engaging in keyhole slots m<SP>2</SP> in the tube m and being secured by lock-nuts q.
