Abstract
902,238. Core constructions. SIEMENSSCHUCKERTWERKE A.G. April 15, 1959, No. 12805/59. Class 35. A synchronous dynamoelectric machine, e.g. an alternator, has a rotor of at least four poles operating with a torque of from 30 m.kg. to 600 m.kg. and comprising laminations common to all the poles. The main windings 8 are carried in slots, between which are holes (4, Fig. 1, not shown) for damper bars 6 which may be bent inwardly and connected to short-circuiting rings 9, or may be short-circuited by copper laminations identical to the core laminations and arranged at each end thereof (Fig. 3, not shown). The exciting voltage may comprise a constant component and a load dependent component at an appropriate phase angle. It is stated that the insulation of the rotor may have a higher specific resistance than that of the stator.
