Abstract
901,410. Overload indicators for cranes. ALLEN & SONS (OXFORD) Ltd., JOHN. Oct. 19, 1960 [Aug. 12, 1959], No. 27558/59. Class 78 (4). A visible and/or audible overload indicator device is operated by an arm 19 pivoted to a slewing frame 3 and carrying at least one of a set of rollers 18 which co-operate with a flanged ring 14 to oppose the tilting movement of the crane. As described, the arm 19 moves a pointer 24 connected to a spring-biased rod 22, this linkage magnifying the tilting movements of the crane. The movement of the arm 19 may alternatively be transmitted electrically, hydraulically or pneumatically to the indicator device.
