[Also in Group I] A brace for scaffolding has at each end an openended slot adapted to be engaged transversely with a stud 14 on a scaffold upright 10 and has lugs 18 at the mouth of the slot adapted to engage the nut 15 when in brace-retaining position to prevent removal but adapted to clear the nut when it is slacked off. The nut may be substituted by a retaining member pivoted to the end of the stud.
