Abstract

832,131. Ladders. MATTHEWS, C. H. March 11, 1958 [March 11, 1957], No. 7882/57. Class 20(2) A convertible extension and step ladder comprises a ladder member and a rung 15 of which, when the ladder is used as an extension ladder; rests in brackets 12 on a ladder member 7 the ladder member 8 resting against studs 14 on the ladder member 7. When the ladder is used as a step ladder the upper end of the ladder member 8 rests against the upper end of the ladder member 7 and against the studs 14. The studs 14 are mounted on brackets 10 on the upper end of the member 7, the brackets being connected by a wooden member 11 adapted to rest against shelving &c. The upper end of the member 8 has notches for engagement with the studs 14.
