901,044. Generating combustion products under pressure. ZAVODY V.I. LENINA PLZEN NARODNI PODNIK. March 25, 1959 [March 25, 1958], No. 10409/59. Class 51(1). A gas-turbine combustion chamber has a combustion chamber lining of cylindrical or conical shape formed by a number of segments on which are mounted longitudinal cooling fins and supporting rings comprising plates, each welded to at least two fins, each plate being formed of two axially offset parts and an oblique connecting part. The thermal stresses in cooling fins 2 are relieved by radial slots 7. Adequate rigidity is provided by joining each fin to its adjacent fins by plates 3 and the gaps 6 between the plates 3 are disposed over the slots 7. Cooling air is admitted to the combustion zone through gaps 8 between the segments which may have a ceramic lining 9. The segments are mounted on pins sliding in sleeves, the pins being urged radially outwardly by springs. The pin in each suspension 4 has sufficient clearance in a hole at the bottom of the sleeve to allow for radial and circumferential displacement, whereas each suspension 5 allows only for radial displacement.
