Abstract
899,814. Donning and doffing devices for spinning-spindles. APLICACIONES TEXTILES S.A. Dec. 4, 1959 [Jan. 13, 1959], No. 41265/59. Class 120(2) A spinning &c. machine of the kind comprising a row of spindles 15, a donning device comprising a number of first members 25 carried by a movable element 23 and having cop-formers which are adapted to release when the element is displaced, and a donning device comprising a number of second members 14 with cop-gripping means carried by a shaft 11 which can be displaced to move the members so that they can releasably engage and remove full cops, also comprises a number of uprights 1 carrying on their upper parts the element 23, and on their lower parts the shaft 11; cop-formers are put in the members 25 when the element is in its upper position and the element is then lowered to put the formers on the spindles where they remain when the movable element is again raised. The element 23 comprises brackets carrying bars 24, 24<SP>1</SP> to which the members 25 are fixed. One or more of the uprights has a chain 22 passing over pinions 19, 19<SP>1</SP>: each chain is fastened to a bracket so that the element can be raised and lowered when a handle 21 is operated to rotate the shaft carrying the lower pinion(s). The cop-formers are releasably held in the members 25 by washers, shock absorbers being provided to cushion the descent of the formers on to the spindles. The members 14 are carried on a bar 13 carried by arms 12 on a common shaft 11 which can be rotated by an arm 17. One or more uprights has a box 9 to which the shaft 11 is secured: each box has a gearwheel meshing with a rack 3 on the corresponding upright. Each gear can be rotated to raise and lower the corresponding box, and with it the shaft 11 and the members 14 when a shaft 8 is rotated by a handle 10.
