Abstract

899,467. Brackets. JOHNSTONE, W. Feb. 15, 1961 [Feb. 23, 1960], No. 6365/60. Class 52(5) A bracket for supporting lifting tackle &c. comprises a cantilever arm 1 having at one end a member for embracing a vertical pole, two portions 6, 9 of the member engaging the pole at vertically spaced locations on opposite sides thereof, and one or more pointed projections 11 from these portions entering the pole, under load. The arm is formed of metal rod and has an integral or welded gusset plate 5, an extension 6<SP>1</SP> of the arm being integral with or welded to the plate, and the further extension 6 of the arm, at 45 degrees to the axis thereof, is formed as a hook 7 and has a reinforcing plate 8. The horizontal curved rod 9 has the same curvature as the hook and is welded to the junction of the parts 1 and 6<SP>1</SP> and a horizontal reinforcing plate 10 is integral with or fixedly attached to the rods 1 and 9.
