Abstract

1,114,348. Lifting cradles. ATELIERS HEUZE, MALEVEZ & SIMON REUNIS S.A. 16 Dec., 1966 [19 Jan., 1966], No. 56502/66. Addition to 871,409. Heading B8H. The lifting hook described in Specification 871,409 is modified to facilitate lifting elongated loads by providing a lower arm 3, Fig. 1, in the form of a sleeve. One of the pins 6 of a rolling mill cylinder 5 may be inserted into the sleeve so that the cylinder may be raised in a horizontal position. In a second embodiment, Fig. 2, three C-shaped hooks 8, 8<SP>1</SP>, 8<SP>11</SP> are provided across which an elongated load may be supported. The hooks are attached to a beam 9 on which is mounted at least one compensating device 7. The vertical arms may be telescopic and may be provided with automatic locking members.
