Abstract

The invention comprises hydrazines of the general formula <FORM:0899385/IV (b)/1> and their acid addition salts, wherein R is an alkyl radical and n is a whole number from 3 to 9, and the preparation thereof by condensing a ketone of the general formula CH3-(CH2)n-CO-R with hydrazine and hydrogenating the hydrazone so formed. According to the Provisional Specification, n may be an integer from 1 to 9, and the second nitrogen atom of the hydrazine residue may carry one or two alkyl or acyl substituents. Central nervous system stimulant preparations comprise compounds of the invention and an inert pharmaceutical carrier. Examples are given of compositions in the form of tablets and of solutions for parenteral injection.
