Abstract

897,704. Winding webs. JAGENBERGWERKE A.G. June 19, 1959 [June 27, 1958], No. 21134/59. Class 100(1) The tightness of a roll of web being wound on a shaft 13 is regulated by varying the angle of contact of the web with a driven support roller 7. The angle of contact is varied by a roller 4 carried by lever 15 pivoted about a shaft 16 carrying the roller 7. Knives 5, axially adjustable on a support 6, carried by the levers 15, co-operate with the roller 4 to effect longitudinal webslitting. The shaft of roller 4 is connected, by a rod 19, to the shaft of a roller 3 mounted in levers 18 also carrying a roller 2. The levers 18 may be rocked, to vary the angle of contact of the web with roller 7, by a lever 21 actuated by a water-driven shaft 23.
