897,646. Road vehicle undercarriages. CHAPMAN, A. C. B. June 13, 1958 [June 13, 1957], No. 18649/57. Class 108(2) A road vehicle driving wheel suspension comprises an oil filled spring suspension unit 13-17 located in substantially the same vertical plane as the half shaft 4, and a radius arm 10 pivoted directly to the wheel hub casing 9. The lower end of the suspension unit is shrunk into a socket 12 on the hub casing, and its upper end is either pivoted to the chassis 2 at 19, or when applied to a vehicle having a unitary body, it is connected to the body by means of resilient pads 20 (Fig. 2). Similar pads (not shown) may replace pivots 21 which connect the radius arm to the chassis.
