Abstract
897,565. Propelling vehicles up inclined tracks. GUTEHOFFNUNGSHUTTE STERKRADE A.G. July 11, 1960 [July 18, 1959; April 13, 1960], No. 24168/60. Class 104 (2). In a device for propelling mine cars 19 up an inclined track, two alternately reciprocating cylinders 1, 2, disposed beside one another between the tracks, are guided on stationary plungers 3, 4 and are provided with drivers 5 spaced along the cylinders 1, 2 and engageable with the mine cars 19. The cylinders 1, 2 are hydraulically operated and interconnected at their lower ends by a rope 12 passing round a pulley 11. The drivers 5 are pivotally mounted to enable them to pass beneath the mine cars 19 on their return stroke. Extension arms 14 or 15, linked to the upper and/or lower ends of cylinders 1, 2 and mounted in guides 14<SP>1</SP>, 15<SP>1</SP>, are provided with one or more drivers 16, 17 to propel mine cars 19 on to or off the upwardly-inclined track. A pivoted block 21 prevents the cars 19 running backwards. The devices may be included in a circulation path at a pit head.
