Abstract

A process for the treatment of fertilizers comprising phosphates and optionally ammonium nitrate comprises incorporating urea or a salt of urea in an amount not greater than 0,75% based on the weight of the fertilizer. Preferably the fertilizer contains 2-35% of P2O5 as superphosphate triple superphosphate, monocalcium phosphate, dicalcium phosphate, monoammonium phosphate or diammonium phosphate: 0,5 to 15% (as N) of ammonium nitrate; and 1-30% (as K2O) of potassium chloride: Ammonium sulphate may also be present.
