Abstract

894,624. Shelving. CHANGE-WARES Ltd. Nov. 18, 1960, No. 39666/60. Class 52(1) A shelf bearer 5 is formed of angle section metal having an upwardly folded vertical flange 7, 8 to form a sliding connection with the mating parts 15, 17 of a supporting plate 13. The bearer 5 is formed with a plate 10 having an inverted L- shaped slot 11. The bearers are mounted between vertical side plates 1, 2 having two series of holes 3, 4. The side plates may be openwork wire frames and the holes 3 and 4 formed in plates attached to the wires. Alternatively, each series of holes may be in a separate member. To fit the bearers, slot 11 is first engaged with a bolt in a hole 4. Plate 13 can then be moved by finger, piece 20 to bring slot 18 over a bolt in the desired hole 3. The bolts are provided with wing nuts 22. Transverse shelf-stiffening bars may be used with sheet metal shelves. The shelves may be of any desired form of construction.
