[Also in Group XXXII] In a load-carrying vehicle having a low loading area to the rear of which the rear wheel sets are mounted, the rear wheels are mounted, to provide freedom of access to the loading space from the rear of the vehicle, upon longitudinal members pivotally mounted beneath the loading space so that the wheel sets carried thereby may be swung laterally outwards. The rear wheel sets a<SP>1</SP>, a<SP>11</SP> are carried by axles c<SP>1</SP>, c<SP>11</SP> mounted upon vertical pivots b<SP>1</SP>, b<SP>11</SP> carried by longitudinal members d<SP>1</SP>, d<SP>11</SP> which are mounted on ball ring mountings #<SP>1</SP>, #<SP>11</SP> which support the loading surface and are capable of pivoting about vertical axes. The pivots b<SP>1</SP>, b<SP>11</SP> and ball ring mountings are provided with locking means (not shown) which allow the wheels to be locked in the travelling position. The ball ring mountings are provided with intermeshing teeth g<SP>1</SP>, g<SP>11</SP> so that their pivotal movement is interdependent and their mountings may be inclined so that upon being swung outwardly, the loading platform is lowered. To obtain the outwardly-swung positions, the pivot locking means are released, the outer wheels braked, and the vehicle is moved backwards.
