[Also in Group XXXII] In a vehicle in which wheels 2 (Fig. 1) can be swung aside to lower one end of the platform 1 of the vehicle towards the ground, means are provided for preventing the platform, or any part of chassis, engaging the ground, and thus making it difficult to swing the wheels by driving the vehicle forwards or backwards. In one form the movement of arms 4 carrying the wheels is limited by adjustable stops on the chassis. Alternatively, as shown in Fig. 1, movement of the wheels on opposite sides of the vehicle may be synchronised by connecting the arms 4, 5 through links 26, 27 to quick-pitch nuts 28, 29 on a screw 30a, 30b, provided with end stops 32, 33. As a further alternative, the platform 1 may terminate in arcuate members 46 (Fig. 3), pivoted at 45 to the chassis and carrying a ramp 46b which can be used to carry the registration number of the vehicle.
