[Also in Group XXX] The wheels of a road vehicle carry guiding members 5 adapted to engage rails 8 at a loading bay or on the platform of a vehicle on to which the guided vehicle is to be run. The illustration shows the rear axle of a semitrailer with twin wheels. The wheels 2, 3 are located on the hub 1 by a spacer 4 and are secured by a ring 7 held in place by studs and nuts 6. The guiding member 5 is held between the spacer 4 and the inner wheel 3 and has a turned-over edge 5a to avoid damaging the tyre. Alternatively, the guiding member 5 may be gripped between the bead of the tyre and the tyre-retaining ring 9 or may replace the tyre-retaining ring 9 and be held in position by the usual split retainer 12.
