Oil is supplied to the ball-bearings 18, 19, of a shaft rotating at high speed, through a conical bore 12 in the shaft, and passages 13 in the shaft which cooperate with staggered passages 16 in the inner races of the bearings, the passages 13 and 16 being connected by an annular recess 14 adjacent each bearing, the recesses being in the shaft or in the inner races of the bearings.
