Abstract

Class 20(1) [Also in Group XXII] In making a support column for a petrolpump canopy &c. from two plates of parallelogram shape, Fig. 4, the plates are folded along lines 15 forming oppositely-tapering sides 1, 2 and the angle sections thus formed are joined by welding along the edges 13, 14. Opposite sides of the column taper in the same direction, adjacent sides tapering in opposite directions. Rectangular top and bottom plates 7, 8 may be provided and an internal pipe or support 10. The bottom plate may be replaced by feet (Fig. 6, not shown) for grouting in concrete.
