An assembly for mounting units 18 carrying circuit elements is of generally box-like configuration and comprises end walls interconnected by two parallel linear members having U-shaped bars mounted on their front and rear edges, contact strips interconnecting the linear members and held in position by the rear U-shaped bars, and a plurality of parallel guide bars, for supporting the mounting units, located on the linear members and disposed transversely thereto and engaging with the contact strips and with the front U-shaped bars. The linear members 1 have a hollow rectangular cross-section with flanges 4 which hold U-shaped toothed bars 5, 5a in position. Contact strips 11 are held in position by the engagement of teeth 7a of U-shaped bar 5 with slots 6 of the contact strip 11, Fig. 5, and the engagement of the U-shaped cross-section guide bars 12, 13 with recesses 9 in the contact strips. The guide bars 12, 13, of elastic plastic material, are also provided with two claw-shaped projections, Fig. 6 (not shown), which rest between the teeth of the front U-shaped bar 5a and thus prevent the guide bars from sliding out of engagement with bar 5a. The frames 18a and 18b may be used to hold in position either one or more units 18 made of plates of insulating material upon which circuit components are mounted.
