An electrical equipment mounting assembly for supporting detachable drawer units is of generally box-like configuration and comprises end walls interconnected by a plurality of linear members having a plurality of guide bars located at various distances therealong and disposed transversely thereto, such that units mounted in the assembly are each retained in position by a pair or pairs of guide bars between which the unit is mounted, electrical connection being made to the units by electrical contact strips held in position in the assembly by the pair of guide bars which retain the corresponding unit in position. The rack comprises a linear member 1, angle members 2, 2<1> provided with slots 7 and mounted on linear members 1, 4, and linear members 3, 3<1> provided with slots 8, 9, 91; the box-like configuration being completed by two end plates 5. Guide bars 11, 12, 13 are prevented from lateral displacement by the engagement of three hooks 14, 15, 16, Figs. 5, 8, and guide portion 18 with the slots 7, 8, 9 and 91; longitudinal displacement being prevented by the engagement of projections 19, 20 with angled portions 10, 10<1> attached to linear members 3, 3<1>. Contact strips 37 are held in position by guide bars 11, 12, the latter having two prongs 21 which engage in recesses 22 of the spring strips, Fig. 3. Guide bar 13 of elastic plastic material, and intended for plateshaped drawer units 24, Fig. 7, has a single projection 25 which fits into the recess 22 of the contact strip. When the guide bars 11, 12, 13 are inserted the respective contact strip 37 is pushed backwards and U-shaped portions 26, 261 of the linear members 3, 31 engage two slots 27 of the spring strip. Contact springs, Fig. 6 (not shown) are inserted into the contact strips 37 and are brought into a predetermined position in relation to the contacts of the drawers 23, 24. The units are prevented from sliding out by a spring 32 engaging a catch 33 on the drawers.
