890,254. Moistening air. SANZENBACHER, W. A. Sept. 2, 1959 [Sept. 2, 1958], No. 30003/59. Class 55 (2). Apparatus for moistening air comprises a fan arranged to draw air into a casing containing a body of water and an endless belt 25 dipping into the water and rotating with the fan to spray water on to a pad 31 formed by folding into several layers the upper end of a piece of absorbent material 30, the lower end of which dips into the water, the air drawn in by the fan passing through the moistened absorbent material 30 or the pad 31 before leaving by a grilled outlet 6. A float 33 may be provided to indicate the water level in the casing and operation of the apparatus may be controlled by a hygrostat 12. An ozonizer 40 may be mounted within the easing.
