Abstract
890,056. Boxes. REED CARTONS Ltd. July 26, 1960 [July 28, 1959], No. 25883/59. Class 18. A box for dispensing granular &c. material has a dispensing opening 12 in one wall 5 initially sealed on the side facing the interior by a frangible portion 13 of the container which is secured to the wall 5 and registers with the opening 12, and a movable member 18 in or on the wall serving to open or close the aperture. The box is bent up from the blank of Fig. 1, the panel 7 of which has a weakened portion 13 adapted to register with the opening 12. Between the panels 5 and 7 slides a metal strip bent at the top 20 to rest in a cut away portion 16 in the top of the box. On raising the strip clear of the opening 12 the part 13 may be broken inwardly to form a dispensing passageway which may be closed by sliding the strip down.
