Abstract

889,733. Inductive signalling. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Dec. 2, 1960, No. 41572/60. Class 40(5). In a two-way inductive signalling system signals from a microphone 9 at a fixed station A are fed via an amplifier 2 and transformer 7 to points 3 and 4 on an inductive loop 1, the point 3 being a tap on the primary winding of a transformer 6 arranged so that the resultant flux is zero for the signal currents from the fixed station flowing in opposite directions through the two portions of the primary winding. In this way feedback via the secondary winding 8 of the transformer 6 to the amplifier 2 is avoided. The signal currents in the two halves of the loop 1 are received by pick-up coils 11 and affect signal-responsive devices at mobile stations B, C. If either of stations B, C wishes to communicate with the other or with the fixed station, signal currents impressed on a coil 11 circulate in the loop and via the transformer 6 are supplied to the amplifier 2 and reproduced at 10. The amplified signals are also supplied back to the loop via the transformer 7 for reception by the other mobile station.
