873,983. Inductive telephony. TANNOY Ltd. March 31, 1959 [Dec. 31, 1957], No. 40461/57. Class 40(5) In an inductive telephonic system a transmitter and receiver members respectively in a moving structure e.g. the cab of a gantry crane and a fixed station e.g. a control point, are inductively coupled by one or more loops fixed to the structure and connected to the station mounted thereon and one or more loops fixed relative to the base and connected to the fixed station. In the embodiment described two cranes have identical stations 1, 1a, Fig. 1, mutually coupled to single turn loops 2, 2a connected to an amplifier and control panel 3, by multi-turn coils 16, 16a. At one station a Push to talk button 4 energizes the sending circuit and transmits an h.f. signal together with the audio signal to prepare the amplifier 3 and receiver station by known relay circuits, after filtering of the h.f. signal.
