Abstract

In the preparation of coloured, or fluorescent, rubber-bonded asbestos sheets &c., a slurry of chrysotile asbestos fibres in water is treated with a water-soluble azo dye, phthalocyanine dye, a neutral dye or a stilbene-, or a thiazolefluorescent brightening agent, or a mixture thereof reacting with the fibre-surfaces to facilitate even deposition of synthetic rubber latex thereon.ALSO:In the production of coloured, or fluorescent, rubber-bonded asbestos sheets, &c., a slurry of chrysotile asbestos fibres in water is treated with a water-soluble azo dye, phthalocyanine dye, a neutral dye, or a stilbene- or a thiazole-fluorescent brightening agent or a mixture thereof reacting with the fibre-surfaces, to facilitate even deposition of synthetic rubber latex thereon.
