Abstract

A plastic substance to be used instead of bread for cleaning papered or painted walls &c. is obtained by stirring bran into boiling water containing a small proportion of water-glass. A little oil of turpentine may be added. For example, 500 gm. of wheat or rye bran are stirred into a boiling solution of 2 gm. of water-glass in 0,33 litre of water until a rubber-like mass is obtained.
