Abstract

A creamy product for cleansing the hands &c. without using water comprises a mixture of tallow, caustic soda, oil, preferably of a vegetable origin, and turpentine, together with a large proportion of water. A preferred composition with proportions by weight contains tallow, 6 per cent; caustic soda, 4 per cent; oil, 4.5 per cent; turpentine, 0.5 per cent; and water, 85 per cent. The water content is reduced by evaporation until the mixture assumes a pasty consistency. The compositions may also include perfumes.
