Abstract

A cleansing preparation is composed of soft soap, a gritty or abrasive substance such as sawdust, ground wood or cork, an animal or vegetable oil, a perfume, and water to a paste. For example, 21 lb. of soap, 21 lb. of water, 11,5 lb. of sawdust, 20 oz. of olive oil and 2 oz. of lavender are mixed and allowed to stand for 2 days. Bran, oatmeal and pumice are also specified as abrasives.
