Abstract

A coating-composition suitable for the production of relief surfaces consists of colouring pigment and powdered peat, mixed with water, gluey water, or oil to a consistency suitable for application by a brush. The peat constitutes at least 10 per cent by volume of the coating-composition. In an example, 1 litre of powdered peat is stirred into 1 litre of ordinary lime white-wash. Instead of lime wash, oil paint may be used. In another example, a dry mixture comprising 1 part by volume of colouring matter, 1 part of powdered peat, 0,1 part of dextrine and 0,2 part of wheat flour is stirred out with hot water.
