Abstract

889,417. Foot arch supports. GOODRICH CO. B. F. Dec. 1, 1960 [Jan. 18, 1960], No. 41366/60. Class 17(2) An arch support consists of integrally moulded heel 11 and arch 12 portions, the heel portion being thickest along its inner edge 14 (Fig. 2, which is a view of the underside of the arch support) and feathered towards the line 15, and the arch portion having a downwardly depending wall 18 on the inner edge, this wall being thickest at the point B and tapering forwardly and backwardly of this point, and a number of projections 19 which are longest at C and decrease in length as their distance from C increases. The arch support may be roughened on the lower surface of 11 and along the margin 26 of the arch portion for better adhesion to the insole of the shoe. The heel portion may only be feathered from the edge 14 to the line 15, and of uniform thickness between the edge 17 and the line 15.
