Abstract
889,265. Filters. FORENADE SUPERFOSFATFABRIKEN A.B. Aug. 16, 1960 [Sept. 11, 1959], No. 28297/60. Class 46. A filter device comprises an endless carrier belt 1 supporting the longitudinal edges of the upper run a filter cloth 4, in slots 7 in marginal ribs 2 of the belt, and a rotatable conical roll 8 at each end of the device which bends the ribs outwards to continuously release the filter cloth at the transition from the upper to the lower rim and re-attach it at the termination of the lower run. The carrier belt 1 is preferably of rubber with reinforcing fabric embedded therein. The conical rolls are provided at their upper ends with a thin disc 9 of synthetic plastic to press the edges of the filter cloth into the slots 7. Alternatively the conical rolls may be replaced by tilted cylindrical rolls or sliding rails (not shown). The filter cloth may rest on an endless intermediate belt 3 during the upper run. In a modification, Fig. 7 (not shown), the conical rolls 8 are dispensed with, at the end of the device where the transition from the upper to the lower run takes place, and instead an auxiliary roll is arranged parallel to and outside the driving roll 5 and withdraws the cloth from the belt ribs when it reaches roll 5 on the upper run. A guide plate may be used to raise the filter cloth during the lower run before arrival at the conical rolls.
