778,604. Foot imprinting devices. SCHOLL MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd. March 2, 1956 [March 3, 1955], No. 6724/56. Class 17 (3). [Also in Group XVI] A device for taking an impression of a foot comprises a pair of internally dished cover members 1, 2 hinged together by a pin 3 and a similarly hinged frame 8 mounting a flexible imprinting diaphragm 10 which is preferably smooth on one face and has closely spaced ribs of differing thickness on the other so that the impression made depends on the weight on the particular area. The ribbed face is inked as by a roller 24 a reference card, 11 is placed in the other cover 2 and the frame 8 pivoted to lie over it. The foot can then be pressed on the diaphragm to make an impression. A heel guide 20 is hinged at 21 to the frame 8.
