Abstract
889,089. Air line lubricators. NORGREN & CO., C. A. Aug. 18, 1960, No. 28605/60. Class 12 (3). In an air line lubricator 2 for generating a micronic sized aerosol, the generator 1 is fitted in the air line 7, 8 and lubricant is supplied from a bowl 10 through a tube 14 containing a wick 15 to an annular groove 12 in the lubricator body, and thence via tubes 28 to a chamber 25 in the generator, in which it is formed into an aerosol, and is discharged through pipe 8. The tubes 28 have capillary bores 29 which connect with capillary grooves 32 at their inner ends, the edges of these ends being chamfered at 33. There may be several tubes 28 arranged in parallel relationship, or normal to each other. Part of the air passing into inlet 7 passes through a hole 16 to exert a pressure on lubricant L, thus causing it to rise in tube 14 to supply tubes 28.
