Class 100(1) [Also in Groups XVII and XX] A device for storing and delivering paper comprises a lightproof chamber for a light sensitive paper, a movable cover for closing the chamber, a feeding element which moves the paper towards an opening in the chamber, means for moving the feeding element into contact with the paper, and a lost-motion connection between the cover and the means for moving the feeding element. As shown the light-proof chamber has two parts 7, 9 connected by a member 8, the part 9 having an opening 10 therein. The opening 10 is closed by a sliding cover 12 which runs on rollers 13, 14, and has an operating handle 18. The chamber is mounted on feet 5, 6 so as to be inclined to the horizontal. A pile of sheets 2 is disposed on a support 23 carried by an insert 40 in the chamber. The sheet separator consists of a roller 29 carried by a rod 28 pivoted to a lever 21. The lever 21 is pivoted at 22 to the insert 40 and is biased by a spring 24 towards rotation in a clockwise direction, such rotation being prevented by a stop 25. The roller 29 is made of polished steel and has an insert 32 of rubber on its periphery, its rotation being restricted by projections 30, 31 on one end which abut against the rod 28. The roller 29 normally rests on the top sheet 2. When the cover 12 is slid back by the handle 18 a stop 20 on the underside thereof engages the upper end of the lever 21 and causes the lever to move in a counterclockwise direction. The roller 29 rolls over the sheet on which it rests until the projection 30 abuts against the rod 28. In this position the insert 32 engages the sheet and as the lever 21 rotates further the sheet is pushed up through the opening 10 where it can be grasped by the hand. When the handle 18 is released the cover 12 returns to the Fig. 1 position under the influence of gravity and the spring 24 returns the roller 29, the smooth surface of the roller riding over the uppermost sheet in the process. Trays 34, 35 are mounted on the feet 5, 6 for holding non-light sensitive sheets.
