Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve collating efficiency and accuracy by amplifying the displacement of a thickness measuring lever interlocking with a holding lever when a copy holder holds an abnormal amount of copies, so that micro-switch operating plates are actuated to stop a collator. CONSTITUTION:At time of a normal collating, the end 20 of a thickness measuring lever 4 is adjusted by a screw 8 in such a manner as to pass between micro- switch operating plates 17. In the thus adjusted apparatus, in case of holding copies excessively, a holder 2 is moved to open and the end of the thickness measuring lever 4 is adapted to pivot on a roller 6 and displace, so that a contact rod 20 can not pass between the micro-scwitch operating plates 17 and is brought into contact with the operating plates 17 so as to stop collating. In case of lack of copies, the contact rod 20 is operated in contrast with this to stop collating. In this case a little displacement of the holder 2 is amplified depending upon a contact point of a shaft 21 and the roller 6 with the lever and upon the distance between the contact rod 20 and the operating plates. Thus, the accuracy can be improved by amplifying a change in thickness.
