Abstract
887,587. Resistance measurement. EVERSHED & VIGNOLES Ltd. Dec. 11, 1959 [Dec. 19, 1958], No. 41092/58. Class 37. Insulation resistance is measured by applying stabilized direct voltage from rectifier circuit 2 through the test circuit 3 in series with standard resistor 4 and feed-back resistor 5 ; bridged by short-circuiting switch 6. Amplifier 7 is energized from the voltage across resistor 4 and develops output across resistors 5, 8 in series ; the respective values being adjusted so that the voltage across 5 is equal and opposite to that across 4. Initially, switch 6 is closed until circuit 3 is fully charged, and is opened without further disturbance since points P, Q are at the same potential; the voltage across resistor 4 being indicated by instrument 9 as a measure of the insulation resistance of 3.
