Abstract

886,332. Pipe joints. BENDIX CORPORA TION. Oct. 27, 1960 [Nov. 19, 1959], No. 36956/60. Class 99(1). A joint structure for making a fluid connection between a relatively fixed body member 10 having a counterbore 10c and a tubular member 11 having a head 12 of diameter corresponding to a sliding fit in the counterbore, includes tubular spacers 13, 14 of the same diameter as the head, and a retaining sleeve 15 detachably secured to the body member and slidably receiving the head and spacers for maintaining them in alignment. The spacer 14 fitted in the counterbore is of a length greater than that of the counterbore, and sealing means, such as 0-rings, are provided between the head and the sleeve, and the spacer 14 and the sleeve and the spacer 14 and the body member. The structure may be assembled and disassembled without relative movement of the pipe with respect to the body member.
