886,316. Cooling dynamo-electric machines. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Oct. 6, 1959 [Oct. 23, 1958], No. 33991/58. Class 35. [Also in Group XXVIII] A flexible hose comprising liquid impervious hollow tubing 1 of P.T.F.E. contains an end-toend series of tubular liners 2 . . . 4 constructed of material capable of supporting the tubing against collapse under external pressure. The hose is applicable to conveying cooling water to the hollow stator winding conductors of a turbogenerator and would be disposed in a cooling gas e.g. hydrogen at such pressure as would be liable to collapse the tube at elevated temperatures. The liners are a loose fit in the tubing and are of either a fused mica and glass composition coated with a P.T.F.E. dispersion, or P.C.T.F.E. A sleeve 6 swaged over an end of the tubing 1 attaches the latter to an insert 5 which can be coupled to a header not shown by a union nut 7 and lock washer 8. Specification 886,315 is referred to.
