Abstract
661,822. Uniting by fusion. WESTING- HOUSE ELECTRIC INTERNATIONAL CO. Aug. 12, 1949 [Sept. 17, 1948], No. 21017/49. Class 83 (iv). [Also in Groups XXVI and XXVIII] In high temperature steam turbine nozzlebox constructions as described in Specification 637,771, [Group XXVI], the sleeve connecting the nozzlebox 12 to the inner turbine casing 11 is made in two parts 34, 35 welded together. The part 34 is made of the same material as the nozzle-box which may be 18-8 stainless steel. The part 35 is made of the same material as the casing 11 which may be chrome-molybdenum steel. The connection is generally applicable to high-temperature apparatus wherein a wall element and a tube made of different materials are to be connected by a tubular collar welded to both.
