Abstract
886,302. Knitting. ONDERZOEKINGSINSTITUUT RESEARCH N.V. Sept. 1, 1959 [Sept. 22, 1958], No. 29843/59. Class 74 (2). [Also in Group IX] Stretch properties of yarn, which has been wound into a package consequent on crimping by setting the twist in a yarn temporarily highly twisted by a false-twisting operation, are fully restored by tensioning the yarn at least 25 grms. per 100 denier and gradually, abruptly and/or in successive steps relaxing the tension, e.g. by continuous passage through pairs of rollers driven at different speeds, at any time thereafter but immediately prior to knitting into fabric. The initially crimed yarn may be wound at a tension of at least 25 grms. per 100 denier or less, in which latter case rewinding is necessary.
