Abstract
886,152. Coffee mills. MAXWELL ETABLISSEMENT. Oct. 24, 1960 [March 17, 1960], No. 36408/60. Class 59. A coffee mill comprises a chamber 10, Fig. 1, in which coffee beans from a reservoir 13 are ground by means of a motor-driven knife 6, the ground coffee passing through adjustable openings in relatively rotatable plates 8, 9 to a chamber 7 from which it is ejected into a container 12 which can be emptied by shaking. The plate 9 is rotatable relatively to the plate 8 from outside by hand through an eccentric or by means of a lever 15. Baffles may be provided in the chamber 10 or its wall inclined as at 16. A stripper 5 is provided. The container 12 may be graduated. In Fig. 2, the knife 22 has bent ends and the reservoir 23, which is rotatable has openings 24 co-operable with openings 25 in a casing 26. The ground coffee passes through the openings 24, 25 and through a further opening 28 to a chamber 29 from which it is ejected into a removable container 31.
